You and I have some things in common

Similar to you, I’ve felt anxious, lost, depressed and like I wasn’t enough. I’ve felt creatively stuck.

My story is meant to show you that we are all doing the best we can creating the life we want to live in. You’re more than your anxiety, panic, frustration, loneliness and exhaustion.

I know anxiety, overthinking and feeling stuck

I’ve been fighting anxiety, perfectionism, depression and overthinking my whole life . I will always be fighting against perfectionism to a certain extent. I can now say that I love the effort and challenge of working with anxiety and perfectionism in my life. Perfection is boring, sterile and not creative.  An imperfect, messy life can be an inspiring, unfolding creative world to live in. 

I hated therapy. I experienced some really terrible therapists as a teen struggling with anxiety and depression. I was a dark and twisty teen, obsessed with music, poetry and looking cool.  The therapists I was forced to meet with would either tell me to pray it away (Kentucky!) or act like I had no reason to feel upset.

Complete invalidation. 

It wasn’t until I was in my twenties that I decided to give it one more go and found a therapist that truly heard me. I felt understood, seen and connected for the first time in my life. This therapist helped me put together the pieces of why I felt the way I did, how I got there and where I wanted to go. It was incredibly hard work but it taught me how to manage my mind and treat myself like a friend.

    I want therapy to feel like one of those deep, late night conversations with a close friend. I want you to feel seen, accepted and at ease in our sessions. Our time together is all about you, your story and what you need help with that day.

    You will leave each session with a clear plan and easy to remember tools to address the issues you want to address between sessions. Over time we’ll build a customized set of tools you can use on the spot when you need to break through anxiety, overthinking and be your most creative self.

  • Brain science meets mindful wisdom

    We will be using both cutting edge brain science and mindfulness techniques from the ancient wisdom traditions to get you where you want to go in your life. As a big science nerd and a meditation teacher, I’ve seen this approach transform the lives of those who wholeheartedly engage in it.
